I guess you could say the idea of the Hedgewife came to me almost in a dream. As I lay on one of my sleepless nights I pondered over the type of person I was, swearing to myself that I was born in the wrong time frame.
I loved the old fashioned ways of doing things. Making soap, foods from scratch, gardening, hand stiching things, but on that same end, I also enjoyed some of the modern conviences we have today to help me along in those endeavors. I felt like a hedge, stuck in the middle. Thus, the term Hedgewife came into being.
I did some searching on the net and found nothing that suited my needs exactly. So I created a blog for the 'Hedgewife'. It has grown from that simple blog, to this forum, a place we can come, to talk and discuss the things we do, why we do them and most importantly, the joy in doing them.
So gather all your closet Hedgewife friends and let them know, there is a place for them. Right here. Come visit often. Start up any topic, don't be afraid. We'll all chat with ya!
