I'm gonna have babies and toddlers out the butt! LOL

My 'rent-a-kid' is in town from upstate NY. Now..rent-a-kids name is Amanda. Her and my daughter are best friends and have been since middle school. Amanda lived with us for 90% of her life from the age of 12-20, so she is very much like one of my own. She has three children now..all 5 and below (two girls and a boy) and her youngest, the boy, Tristan is only 2 weeks younger then Brayden, my daughters baby.
They are all coming here today for a visit! ACK!!!
So here I am, up early..semi baby proofing the house and getting a 'toy basket' together.
I used to have a toy basket here when my niece would visit with her girls..but once they got too old for the toys I tossed them (Silly me!) So ...I quickly ran into my craft room this morning, you can always find 'toys' in a craft room.
Got some empty containers (kids love empty containers) some beads from a mardi gras party I had gone to, some blocks that were my husbands as a child, a faceless doll that I have not finished making, some 'pool' toys that I've had for several years (they are soft plastic..rings, toss bars and big chips like money) along with..believe it or not...jar lids..seals..the kind you use when you 'put up your own stuff'..I was saving the used ones, to paint on and make 'mobiles' out of..so they are in a big container, they can pretend they are money or chips or whatever.
I dragged out a box of wooden puzzles that I just happened to have and several coloring books (from the old toy basket) and Walla! I have a toy basket ready for the girls to play with (yep..I even have crayons that they can use if they sit at the table..I don't need crayon wax squished into the carpet).
WHEW! This should be an eventfull day! LOL

So..I'm off to finish baby proofing where I need to, cleaning up a bit and generally getting things ready for the mini people. Smile

How's your day going??

Great ideas for the little ones, Sage. Smile I always said we spent too much on toys when all they wanted to play with was the boxes!! lol

My day is slow, still reeling over the fire. However, we have talked to them and in between all the roller coaster feelings, everyone is just grateful that there was nobody hurt. And there is such huge support from the community, it is incredible. Renews your faith in humans.

I have spent my day putting together a care package to put on the bus tomorrow. Since I got my SIL into stitcheries some time ago, she does so many and has lost that. So now she has a new start on it.

Quite miraculously, although most of the home was in ash, something or someone (?) saved the photo albums!! In the ruins, they moved some stuff and on the bottom shelf are the result of literally thousands of hours of scrapbooking, a true work of "heart". Yes, it is incredible, and an answer to many prayers.

The rest of the week I will be catching up around here after the weekend company. It was fun, and it was a tiring, whirlwind visit, chaotic, but oh, how we miss them!

Enjoy your company, they are little such a short time! Very Happy
