One of my all time favorite from scratch recipes is for Cobbler. You can use any kind of fruit and it is always sooo yummy and extra easy. Most of you have already heard of this recipe but it is still worthy of mentioning. I just made a blueberry cobbler tonight with our first blueberries of the season!!!
Fruit Cobler
2 cups fresh or canned fruit
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 stick butter or margarine
Preheat oven to 350. Melt butter in a 2 quart baking pan. Mix the flour, sugar and milk together with a whisk until smooth and poor batter in pan with melted butter. Spoon fruit into batter, do not stir. Bake at 350 for approximately 30 minutes or until browned.
Variation: Cinnamon, nutmeg or allspice can be added to taste depending on which fruit is used.
This is a very versatile recipe that is quick and super easy. My grandaughter Morgan has been making these since she was about 7 years old!!
Enjoy,
Becky
