Well..I made some more vanilla yesterday..several bottles as a matter of fact!

How do you 'make' vanilla extract you ask? EASY!

Get you some vanilla beans. They can be ordered off the web. I found mind several years ago at a good price..not sure what they are running now adays, but don't be surprised..they are expensive.

Now..run down to the liquor store and get you some 'everclear' or any brand of 'grain alcohol'.

One large bean will usually do a regular size bottle of grain alcohol..once ...

I read through a few recipes the other day and then proceeded to concoct my own recipe for bread pudding with a 'whiskey butter sauce' to top it off! It was GREAT!!

I'm trying to formulate the amounts used so I can post it here for you, but does anyone like bread pudding and do you have a favorite recipe for it?? Share!

Ever made homemade pasta?

I'm so wanting to get a pasta machine. The price of pasta has risen for some strange reason..but then again, the price of all groceries has gone sky high, but having said that...making pasta is certainly cheaper then buying it. Now..I've rolled it out by hand and made the long medium wide noodles..but have really been taking a look at some pasta machines lately. So..two questions really..one: Do you make your own pasta, and if so what recipe to you use..and two: ...

Bread. I'm looking for a good banana bread with nut recipe. I've found several, but they never are exactly what I'm looking for. Most don't have any 'spices' for them, so maybe I'm looking for a cross between banana and spice bread recipe. Do you have a favorite banana bread recipe??

One of my all time favorite from scratch recipes is for Cobbler. You can use any kind of fruit and it is always sooo yummy and extra easy. Most of you have already heard of this recipe but it is still worthy of mentioning. I just made a blueberry cobbler tonight with our first blueberries of the season!!!
