I baked 6 mini loafs of Amish Friendship Bread
and 4 of a Pumpkin Nut bread (from the pumpkin I canned up this year)

I've tasted the pumpkin bread..and I must say..pretty darn good!!

I didn't do as many as I thought I would get to (due to surgery) but I will get at last 10-12 jars set aside. I peel/quarter them..put them in water which I have added citric acid..then cold pack them into the jars heat a simple syrup to boiling, pour over the pears in the jar (leave 1/2 inch headspace) put on the lids then water bath for 20 min (timed after boiling begins). Am I ready? NO NO NO. How about you? I got to ride with the police again last night..had a good time, cant' wait to do it again. I'm almost finished with the baby quilt..a few more edges to quilt then off the frame and hemmed up and it's done. I always seem to get in a more 'crafty' mood with the changing of the weather..do you? I'm thinking of doing another stitchery here soon, or at least laying it out and planning it. That way ... LOL My 'rent-a-kid' is in town from upstate NY. Now..rent-a-kids name is Amanda. Her and my daughter are best friends and have been since middle school. Amanda lived with us for 90% of her life from the age of 12-20, so she is very much like one of my own. She has three children now..all 5 and below (two girls and a boy) and her youngest, the boy, Tristan is only 2 weeks younger then Brayden, my daughters baby. They are all coming here ... G'mornin! I'm hoping to get it off the frame by next week to finish up the edge quilting. (I do that on a large hoop in my lap, it's easier as it stays tighter). The baby is due late November and I'll be leaving for NY Nov 17, so it has to be done by then to travel with me. (or be shipped up before I go). I'm excited to get this one done..it's different then the last one I did for sure! There are so many bad things out there..things that people do to one another that I find myself in total shock when reading it all. ANyway..I'm working away on the quilt..daylight hours only, because of it's color, it's hard to see it like I want to under artifical light. I'm almost ready to 'roll' it for the first time and move to a new section. WOOHOO..it's exciting!

There is always a scramble to get the house in shape for the weekend (and then it gets messed up and you have to start on Monday again!). The kicker is that you get the house ready and I'm thinking that it must be from days gone by because back then people used to stop in for coffee or a visit on a weekend much more than they do these days. Now you have to call to make an appointment to see someone for coffee, and they pencil you in!! ... G'mornin!
