Do you ever have a horrible night, can't sleep, mind keeps racing, feels like something is just not right? Then at 4:30 a.m. the phone rings and you jump out of your skin. Lorne answered, and I could hear our son on the other end...his girlfriend's brother was killed in an auto accident and they were leaving on a long drive, about 12 hours to get there. How horrible and tragic. I'm not even sure which brother it was, he was either early 20's or late teens. I wish there was something that I could do for them, but I can only be here for support and to love them. Again we ask why, but we will never understand the loss of a young person.

Oh...so sorry to hear of the bad news Stitches..but yes, I've had nights like those too. It's funny how our own intuition seems to be there and so many times we ignore it or try to work around it and sometimes, we just need to listen.

Be there, that is all you can do..sometimes a shoulder is the best place to lay your head.

Thanks, Sage. The kids arrived safely, it was 12 hours almost to the minute. The family is devastated, as can be expected. The mom is having a hard time getting connections to get up there, so she won't make it until tomorrow. She may have to bunk here tonight, don't know yet. More bad news, the secretary at my husband's shop had to go to a funeral for a 14 year old today.....some days just don't make any sense. But we trudge on.
