Or is it a depression??? I've got to admit that I'm getting a little spooked at the way things are going right now. Everything is crashing and it is very scary. I'm hoping that with both the American and Canadian elections coming close that things are going to take an upswing, but it doesn't look very promising. What do you think????? Shocked

I'm with you, it doesnt look very promising.

Just the 'cost' of things is shocking and very worrisome. Hubby and I go to the store about every 3 weeks...and we have noticed without fail..every three weeks the price on the stuff we buy is always higher. We buy a lot of the same stuff, so I KNOW how much it costs..and lo and behold, three weeks later, it's anywhere from a few cents higher up to $2 or 3 dollars higher! CHEESE is outta this world! I used to cringe when I had to pay more the $3 a pound for it, now..a big block is over $7!!! OHMYGAWD! Good bread is more then 3$ a loaf..and well meat prices are horrible. How is the average family going to make it on these prices? Add the gas to it, and it's not a pretty thing to see. What with hardly any jobs now a days..

And I could totaly get on a soap box about companies and manufacturers that take their businesses out of the country into places such as India and Mexico so they don't have to pay the 'average salary'..and thereby loosing jobs for those here who need it........GRRR I'm sure some Canadian companies do it too..and it burns me up! (it's called 'outsourcing' in their books..I call it ROTTEN!)

It's a scary thing.
Hence the very reason I will be going back to work in December. Not that I mind..and I still really don't HAVE to for money's sake..but it's getting to the point that we are worried about it enough to say 'hey..let me go back to work and we'll start putting aside everything we can, cuz the future is not looking to good right now"........that's bad huh?

I'm with you, it's bad, really bad. I keep thinking about my dad saying that we will be like Germany with a wheelbarrow of money to go to the grocery store...that is what started it all way back when.
You are so right about the "outsourcing", it's done everywhere. Even our bothersome phone calls are coming from other countries, compliments of our department stores! What the heck??? There is a new "do not call list" to register on as of Sept. 30 up here, but it won't stop those overseas calls.
Your cheese is cheaper than ours, but to tell you the truth, we were pretty shocked at the food prices in the States. We can even get some stuff cheaper here, even that is grown down there.!!!!! Now, what is THAT about??? But we love to get some of the brands down there that we can't find here, even our Costco has different products.
Gas prices? OMG It is truly frightening, where will it stop??
